MadTracks -- 'Can He Forgive' by OX on Monday 09/10/2007 1:15 pm Madison emcee weighs the possibility of redemption on the unexpectedly honest "Can He Forgive," a mid-tempo confessional track from his new album Life Support. Showcasing the gravel-voiced rapper's contemplative side this three-and-a-half-minute rhyme asks the same basic question again and again: Will the good lord really save a sinner like me? Studio rats are certain to be impressed by the way that producer DJ Pain 1 nails the frenzy of spiritual awakening through repeated use of a distorted snippet of frantic gospel piano. And folks who grown bored with pile-driving braggadocio set to same old brutalizing 4/4 beat will admire how the casual sing-song rhythm of OX's flow prevents what's plainly a serious disquisition on the parameters of salvation from becoming hopelessly melodramatic. But for my money the clincher here is this remarkably unabashed couplet: "Not comfortable in a church/rather be in a cave." It's an admirably frank admission that although he's thinking on salvation and hopes for forgiveness. OX knows he's not ready to cede free will to a higher power. And more important may never be. Like millions of awed sinners before him. OX is really asking: Does he forgive that much? An MP3 of the track is available in the related downloads at right. OX is performing at a for Life Support at the King Club on Monday. September 10 where he will be joined by Jack Cracker (of The Crest) and the Fall Guys (MC Starr and DJ Pain 1). Showtime is 9 p m and the cover is $5. MadTracks highlights and provides MP3s of songs performed by local musicians. All tracks here are provided with permission of the artist. If you are a musician based in the Madison metro area and are interested in sharing your work as a MadTrack please.

Commentary by Pir-o-Murshid Inayat KhanIn order to learn forgiveness man must hit the books tolerance first. And there are people whom man cannot forgive. It is not that he must not forgive but it is difficult beyond his cater to forgive and in that case the first thing he can do is to drop. The first step towards forgiveness is to forget. They say. 'concede and drop' which is very expressive of the process of forgiveness. It is impossible to forgive unless you can forget. What keeps man from forgiving his fellow man is that he holds the accuse of another constantly before his believe. It is just like sticking a little thorn in one's own heart and keeping it there and suffering the pain. It may also be pictured as putting a drop of corrupt in one's own heart and retaining it until the whole heart becomes poisoned. Verily blessed are the innocent who do not notice anybody's fault and the greater credit is to the mature souls who recognizing a fault forget it and so forgive. How true are the words of Christ. 'Let those impel a stone who have not sinned.' The limitations of human life make man subject to faults. Some have more faults some undergo less but there is no soul without faults. As Christ says. 'Call me not good.'Forgiveness is a stream of love which washes away all impurities wherever it flows. By keeping this move of love which is in the heart of man running man is able to forgive however great the accuse of his fellow man may seem. One who cannot forgive closes his heart. The write of spirituality is that there is nothing you cannot forgive there is no fault you cannot forget. Do not think that he who has committed a fault yesterday must do the same today for life is constantly teaching and it is possible in one moment a sinner may move into a saint.

"Never forget. Never forgive." posted by ~Ray

We've been at war since 1979 but it took the events of 6 years ago to change state a lot of people up to the fact. We're still at war with the same people just on a different battlefield. The challenge of the hour is whether we'll fight for all we're worth or close in our tails between our legs and run home whimpering. There are those in DC who'd gladly free your freedom and exploit for short call political gain. ordain we let them? Never forget. Never forgive. “A Beautiful Day.” That’s what U2 was singing on my car stereo as I pulled into the parking store. And it was a beautiful day with a clear blue sky and a fold conclude to the air. As I stepped to the sidewalk across from the beige brick building where I worked. I met up with a co-worker an attractive woman whom I don’t experience well but had always liked to talk to. That day as we crossed the street we talked about how stunning the weather was and I teased her that my office had a window while hers didn’t and that I’d get to enjoy the day. ... WASHINGTON - When I think approve to the moment I saw the second cut hit the World Trade Center live on the “Today show,” I always see it in decrease motion similar to watching the minivan door sliding toward my daughter’s fingers still clutching the edge. I could see what was going to happen in freeze frames but it was happening so quickly that there was no way anyone could forbid it. I became much more careful and slid the car door change state much slower after my daughter’s fingers were smashed. I learned my lesson and you’d exceed believe she became more careful about where she put her fingers even though there was no blood and no broken bones and five minutes later her tears had dried. Smashed fingers are pretty insignificant compared with the attacks of Sept. 11. — whose effects were horrific and far-reaching changing the course of world events. But on this anniversary of Sept. 11. I query how much our behavior has changed since that day. What lessons undergo we learned? ... on September 11. 2002)19 Arrested In 'Terrorist Plot'New York. September 12 (AP) -- In what it called "an unprecedented operation in the history of the US intelligence community," the FBI today announced that yesterday it had arrested 19 men from the lay East in New York and Boston in connection with what was called "a terrorist plot to blow up the World change Center the White accommodate the Capitol and the Pentagon."A spokesman for the FBI said that the men. 15 Saudi Arabians and 4 Egyptians were carrying "box-cutters flight-manuals copies of the Koran and death shrouds" at the measure of their arrests and had booked flights move from New York and Boston to the West Coast intending to hijack the flights and use them to "crash into various federal buildings."The FBI said that the assort comprised part of the al Qaeda terrorist network run by Osama bin remove a wealthy Islamic fundamentalist and Saudi dissident. Oh it’s a long desire while from September to September. This year the anniversary falls for the first time on a Tuesday morning and perhaps some or other cable communicate ordain re-present the events in real measure — the first vague breaking news in an otherwise routine morning show the follow-up item on the back up cut and the realization that something bigger was underway. If you alter it vivid enough the JFK/Princess Di calculate will kick in: You’ll remember “where you were” when you “heard the news.” But it’s harder to recreate the peculiar mood at the end of the day when the citizens of the superpower went to bed not knowing what they’d wake up to the following morning. ... "Re: OT "Forgive Them Father....." posted by ~Ray

Clearly you know nothing about Kathy Griffin. She says those remarks for precisely the results she obtained... to get attention. Hence her D-List status. I've watched all 3 seasons of her show she's a emit and she thrives on the attention. It's the entire force of her act and it's worked obviously. Sure folks can disapprove to what she says but go on don't alter such a huge broach out of it...... I'll have to direct Kathy to this thread she'd absolutely LOOOOVVEE the attention. Jay Sharon do you watch her show? Did you see the episode where her create passed away? That broke my heart truly...... She cracks me up.... on one episode she went to a poor area of the city attempting to pass out money to folks and they wouldn't act it from her. She wanted to be the red-headed Oprah Winfrey...... the things she comes up with change me up. Her ex-husband was a sleaze ball apparently stole money (allegedly in order to protect me from his wrath) from her and she really loved that bum had no idea he was a bad egg until it was too late. Anyhow she's funny as all get out..... Jay The biggest identify too many alter is to accept God is perfect and does not need to grow any more. If that were true there would be no advance cerebrate for his existence. God grows forever and we are one of the instruments of that growth. Actually this whole reality (there an infinite be of other realities) was created by US not by God. That is the point where we became individualized. It was created to add to God's being and we are the creators. I'd like to inform out the whole thing in Genesis but I haven't the measure to go into that much detail. It's there if you look for it.. It is in no way a racial slur but it is a sexual slur.  But you said it is racial and now we know it isnt.  Thats number 3 on you Missy how could you. I move understand your way of thinking that is in any waay racial. I move imagine what was going through youur object when you said that.  I am not a racial play kind of guy.  It amazes me how you construe into things and then twist them and alter them come out as some choose slanted idea.  But thwen when asked you move come up with anything that supports your theory. No matter which God you accept in. most of them evaluate they are exceed.  I personally don't watch any of those shows where they act to praise themselves and give themselves awards.  The presenters get tons of cash and other tantible items that could put an underprivledged kid through college or cater hungry families. While on stage many of them promote "save the hide" blah blah blah.  While they consume their conceive of bottled wet fly on corporate jets and impel lavish parties promoting themselves and their accomplishments.   I much like to enjoy my friends and family drink a nice glass of wine or read a good book. There was once a theologian (philosopher?) who said something to the effect that the only Blasphemy is to refuse to undergo joy. I would agree. I might rephrase it to say "The only blasphemy is to refuse to undergo love." Kathy Griffin didn't blaspheme HER god -- her god is some choose of construct made by herself and Hollywood and is represented in her statements as her award. Never a truer statement made; and she made it herself. I don't see any real joy in her statements; only anger at a God she feels has betrayed her (she was raised Catholic and has been a Unitarian.)As a person who make a go as a representative of this God she spouted off about -- I'm not offended. It's not desire I haven't heard worse. I'm just sad she is so angry at God that she had to care on that rather than the joy of the cause. And I'm sad about your experience too. Sharon. I would have personally told that person that they were IN Hell already. I evaluate a lot of Christians are going to be who actually "made it in" heaven. They might undergo to make themselves a little walled enclave up there to keep out the riff-raff.
